I need to get back into the habit of posting! But my entire week has been full of random stress that I’m not going to get into on this blog. Believe me, the rants are somewhere else.

Basically, at the end of all of this, I am devising a schedule and a set of rules for myself to hopefully keep me more sane and happy next year. Last year I let myself get overwhelmed. I’ve scheduled my work days so I work about 2 hours at home and 5 hours at work (I realized that last year I did not take my hour lunch break like everyone else - ever - so I am scheduling less hours to work per day as long as I don’t take that break). I’m setting up rules for minimum hours of sleep (which I am already breaking), minimum hours for art focus, and exercise routines. I’m also going to turn off my work AIM and stop answering/looking at my work email account after dinner every day and on my day off. I will answer phone calls during the times that I’m not on AIM or answering my email, because usually nobody calls me unless it’s an emergency.

This year I’m going to spend more time seeing my friends in the evenings and trying to leave work for specific hours. I let work bleed into every aspect of my life; I never turned it off. I need to turn it off sometimes. Especially since I’m taking on a lot more responsibility.

I’m also going to set up a savings account for grad school.

So anyway, I know most of that isn’t exciting, but it’s so totally necessary. I nearly went crazy last year because people were able to contact me all the time and I could never think straight. I think it’s okay for people to be out of reach every once in a while!

Speaking of being out of reach, tomorrow morning I leave for the first USY Convention of the year!  Shabbat Shalom everyone
